Our Approach
Located in the heart of Miami / Coral Gables, our office was intentionally designed to feel like a serene oasis—calm, quiet, and welcoming. “It is common knowledge that stress affects one’s skin,” says Dr. Lima, “so we’ve created a relaxing environment that encourages peace of mind as the foundation of our care.” With soft, tranquil colors and soothing décor, our space is meant to ease the tension that often comes with doctor’s visits. As many of our patients say, “It doesn’t feel like a doctor’s office at all.”
Meet Dr. Lima
Dr. Janice Lima-Maribona is known for her honest, down-to-earth presence and her ability to make patients feel instantly at ease. With a unique blend of scientific rigor and human connection, she approaches every case—whether clinical or cosmetic—with care, time, and precision. Her goal is to treat concerns effectively while helping each patient feel confident and supported throughout their journey.
As a trusted Key Opinion Leader and consultant for some of the most respected brands—Alma Lasers, SkinCeuticals, Avène/Glytone, ISDIN, Neutrogena, Dove, and more—she plays a direct role in shaping the future of dermatology, technology, and skincare innovation. She also trains providers nationwide through her work with Allergan and serves on Galderma’s Women’s Advisory Board, bringing her expertise to the development of treatments used around the world.
Her commitment to education runs just as deep. Dr. Lima is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Dermatology at FIU’s Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine and serves as a preceptor for FIU and Nova Southeastern University’s Physician Assistant programs, as well as FIU’s pre-medical students—mentoring the next generation of clinicians with the same passion she brings to her practice.
Board-certified in Dermatology since 1999 and a Diplomate of the American Osteopathic Board of Medical Examiners, Dr. Lima is also an active member of nearly every major dermatological society, from the American Academy of Dermatology to the American Society for Laser Medicine & Surgery. A graduate of Southeastern University of the Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine, she brings decades of experience, leadership, and genuine care to every patient she treats.

I’m a certified Physician Assistant practicing dermatology in Miami, FL. I am a proud Miami native, born and raised. With an Argentinian mom and Belgian dad, I love sharing my blended culture with the diverse community I serve. I’m fluent in both English and Spanish, which helps me connect with patients on a more personal level.
I attended Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart before earning my bachelor’s degree at Florida International University, where I later completed my Physician Assistant studies. My passion for Dermatology began early, as I personally struggled with acne growing up. That experience shaped my dedication to helping others feel confident in their own skin.
Outside of the office, you can usually find me spending time with my dog and husband exploring new restaurants around Miami. I truly love what I do and am committed to helping every patient look and feel their best!

I’m a certified Physician Associate specializing in both medical and cosmetic dermatology here in Miami, the city where I was born and raised. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Florida International University and later completed my Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies at Miami Dade College.
My passion for dermatology started early—at just 18 years old. I began working in the field long before becoming a licensed provider, which gave me years of hands-on experience and shaped the patient-centered approach I carry with me today.
I’ve been practicing at Bay Pointe Dermatology since 2021, providing comprehensive care with a focus on long-term relationships and individualized treatment plans. As someone fluent in both English and Spanish, it’s important to me that every patient feels understood, supported, and confident throughout their skincare journey.
I offer a wide range of medical and cosmetic dermatology services, and I take pride in delivering high-quality, compassionate care to every patient I meet.

I’ve been part of Bay Pointe Dermatology since the day we opened our doors in 2007.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Florida, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies and a Master of Medical Science in Medicine from Nova Southeastern University.
Throughout my career, I’ve remained committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care. I bring decades of clinical experience and a genuine passion for medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology to the patients and community I’m honored to serve.
